Design & Manufacturing Review
I’m writing this review from the stand point as a industrial mechanic and welding fabricator. The packing of this bike is well packed with minimal trash to throw out. The bike arrived undamaged from its ground shipping from California to Chicago. It’s a fairly light package at about 76lbs considering what’s inside and easy to move. It’s easy to unbox and you will need a utility knife a pair of cutters to cut a few thick nylon zip ties. I used electricians side cutters.Theres minimal assembly required andthe assembly of the bike is super easy with minimal mechanical inclination or aptitude needed. All the tools are provided for you. Even the quality of the provided tools are above average. They’re worth keeping them in a small pouch as your tool kit for the maintenance of the bike.While assembling the bike as a welder I naturally began inspecting the welds. These welds are solid with no signs of poor quality in any of the welds. They’re uniform and done well. The mechanical design of this bike is high quality and also solid. There were no apparent flaws in the production process (I work on industrial machines in a automotive parts manufacturing plant which gives me the knowledged and ability to spot manufacturing flaws). The quality control process of the manufacturing of this bike is very high. The fasteners they provided even surprised me using stainless steel cap head screws that will endure wet climate better than cheaper galvanized fasteners used by other manufacturers. The stainless steel screws offer a nice subtle BLING ✨ to the overall appearance of this bike. Looking at the electrics of this bike and I’m not disappointed here either. The wiring is well done and you will not need to make any connections. Should you need to replace an electrical part you will not need to cut any wires as they’re twist plug designed connections. The LCD display is large enough to easily read yet small and economic.The rims are also flawless and well made as are the front and rear brake assembly. The front shock absorbing forks move smoothly and have the ability to lock them for a stiff ride. The fenders are abs plastic which eliminates unbending metal should you hit something. The back cargo rack is heavy duty and should be sufficient to fit most panniers. I did not order baskets for this bike though the front mounting bracket is well built to the frame.The derailleur is Shimano and is sufficient for this bike The seat and handle grips are very comfortable as are the placement of the handlebars. Both adjustment to your liking. The one thing I didn’t like and will probably change are the pedals. They’re plastic which the greater majority of people will find sufficient. They do have good grip although I prefer to use an aluminum pedal instead.The owners manual is basic and easy to read though it does lack a better explanation of the bikes settings. Over all I give the design and manufacturing of this bike 5 out of 5 stars.I have not ridden the bike yet to test out it’s overall ride and capabilities but will update this in the future.

Smoothe, nearly effortless Cruising
This model of Heybike is superior and has all one needs to cruise nearly efforlessly. LED sceen informs the ride of all the necessities: battery level, speed, current range with pedal assist and efficiency of pedal mode level1-3. Front and rear isc brakes are a safety attibute thst make even quick stops doable. Front and rear taiilights provide for evening cruising. Saddle is not a tortuous speed bike slim piece but a leather comfortable bowl upon which to sit. I feel I sould put on a kids bannana seat and just lean back! I get a range of 36+ miles. It has a solid retro look and I have gotten several compliments on its appearance. I did not like the manual as it left out critical info like recommended tire pressure and even intructions on pedal assist. And the manual assumed one knows way more about bikes in general. All these bikes come shipped to a dealer or individual to do the final assembly. An ongoing packaging problem was revealed: the hub of the rear wheel of my bike got slammed in shipping. Not visible on the exterior of the box but it bent the guard and derailer enough that a repair was needed. Customer service was excllent, guiding me through the repair and repaying me for the repair when I could not do it myself.Keep on Truckin’Tom B., Tucson, AZ

LCD display program control settings need more explanation in Users Manual
I am revising my rating to “4 1/2 stars” (originally 3). I initially found the LCD settings and explanations confusing. But their customer support was Very helpful in resolving my desire to have the bike function at lower speeds. This 500W bike is powerful and can be aggressive on speed, and is more than we desired, but may be what many riders want. I found the Heybike Cityscape 2.0 relatively easy to assemble. The Users Manual for explaining LCD display options is a little challenging, and that is why I needed help from their customer support. Hopefully they will explain more programming options in future users manuals. With the speed setting changes, I find the bike comfortable and enjoyable to ride.

Beautiful and Powerful – Recommend
Looking for an electric bike and this was suggested to me. Ordered and Received the bike but had an issue with a broken part. Contacted Heybike support and was immediately shipped new part. Finished the assembly (and if I can do it anyone can) and took it out for a spin. The acceleration on assist 1 was noticeable and this bike was fast. It also fits me well being a shorter gal at 5’2”. Highly recommend Heybike and their customer service. Definitely refreshing!

Initial Thoughts After Building and Test Run– UPDATE
– Bike came with a small chip in the paint. Not a big deal, but a bummer.- Easy enough to put together if you’re mechanically inclined or have built a lot of bikes.- The front fender sticks out too far and so your foot hits it when turning the front wheel. (Can’t adjust it forward more due to where headlight mounts.)- With the pedal assist had a “throttle only” option and wasn’t nothing, “slow,” “medium,” “fast.” Pedal Assist is also awkward to change while riding with headlight/horn button size/location between it and handle.I’m are this will be a great bike for tooling around and having fun. Just a couple of design and performance pieces I wish I had seen comments on myself before spending this amount of money.UPDATE: I noticed today before going on a ride that there is some structural integrity issues with the frame near the base of where the battery sits. (See pictures.) The frame is bowing out. Bike has gone less than 150 miles only on paved roads and trails. Seller does not do refunds or returns.

Mystery Bike
Ordered this bike on Amazon, it conformed to the pictures and description on Amazon – Cityscape 2.0. Strangely, there is no Cityscape on the Heybike website, although there is an assembly instruction video on YouTube for a Cityscape that looks nothing like this. There is no video for exactly this bike. The Cityscape 2.0 looks much more like the Cityrun on the Heybike website, but not exactly, which is the most highly rated best value e-bike on Consumer Reports. It looks to be far superior to the earlier Cityscape 1.0. Comparing this bike to a $3000 Specialized Turbo it stacks up pretty well.The assembly instructions were a bit too brief and confusing, but over all assembly is not too difficult. However it was made tricky by a faulty weld in a threaded insert in the frame used to attach one of the four struts of the rear rack. The support staff was prompt and concerned, but in the end it was easier and quickest to effect a work around by modifying one of the support struts with a grinder/cut off tool.Over all, this seems to be a great bike, and almost too good a value to be true. I can’t speak yet as to durability, but it is attractive, solid, has great features, and is comfortable to ride. My only dissapointment in the end is that it’s now shown on Amazon for $100 less than I paid!

Overall great product
I’ve been riding this bike for nearly 2 months. I guess the downside would be that just today. I got my front basket that was supposed to come with it The beginning of June when the bike arrived, the other downside is the directions are very minimal. In fact there were no directions when the basket arrived, but I did figure it out through YouTube video on how to install it otherwise pleased with the product. One thing was that I was supposed to get a credit for merchandise and that has not arrived and I also got a notice today for $100 off of merchandise and when I tried to apply it it says it’s not valid so those would be the downside. Also, the chain has fallen off mid ride twice, and I’ve never had that happen on any bike and 40 years of riding. but I do enjoy the bike a lot and I’m just about 300 miles now.

Nice bike
Bike is very nice but one of the screws for the rack on the back can’t get it to work. It starts to screw in and then all of a sudden it loosens. it does take off on you like other people said so you need to be prepared for that I had it in one mode and two speed and the throttle not working, so I’m not sure how to make the throttle work. i’ll have to write it again and check that out. Overall, it’s a very nice bike. Saw this bike get a bike shop and it was $2000 so the price is nice.

Customer Service
I like the bike it’s self but the Customer service has not been that great so far. I ordered the bike about a month and a half ago so I am a little over the return policy. I took the bike on some trips to some National Parks for some reason the bike does not charge to full capacity. So when visiting the parks the bars should be on 5 bars when fully charged but after a charge it will only show 4 bars then after riding the bars go down with not knowing when it will run out. A little frustrating to say the least. When I got home from my trip tried contacting the Customer service over this issue. Responded at first wanting me to jump through a bunch of hoops sending pictures etc.. now it’s crickets.. tried calling there number on hold for one hour 16 min still no answer.. As of now their customer service not so good. Might want to think about this if wanting to purchase if you can’t get good customer service. Very frustrating!!Update: 5/31/24 The customer service ended up being good once I got a hold of them. I ended up needing a new battery. I have still not received the new battery because they were out of stock. I am just wondering if the batteries have been an issue with these bikes? We shall see when I receive the next one. Because this was taking so long they offered me a free gift which was nice. Fingers crossed new battery will be a good one and no more issues.I was dealing with. I ended up dealing with Mabel and she was good at keeping me updated on this process. Update: 6/6/24 problem still is not resolved very frustrated right now. My display is still showing 4 bars have done everything they have asked and still not working correctly.

We did a lot of research and then decided to buy the Heybike when they went on special. We got the newest version 2.0 cityscape bought one black and one white. My wife’s bike was perfect. Easy to set up and ride is great! My bike however came shipped with a broken front hub assembly and customer service has not been as timely as I would like. HeyBike Customer Service promised to ship a new wheel and provide a tracking number within two days. That was four days ago and I’ve contacted them several times via email with no response so we have one and half bikes and haven’t been on a ride in almost a month.I hope in the end, I can upgrade this to five stars with Heybike customer supports help.

Came with damaged taillight wire
I love the bike itself but my rear light connection wire was completely stripped apart from bike. There’s noway to connect the wires! The front brakes squeal when braking! Plus the owners manual could be alittle bit more explanatory. I’m a 65 year old trying my best to troubleshoot these problems on my own but I can’t. So last resort is trying to get it to a bike shop.

I Love This Bike!
My new bike arrived quickly and in good shape. It’s heavy at 65 lbs. Assembly took about an hour from unboxing to completion. It’s so well-constructed. The paint finish is perfect, the welds are neatly done, the handles and saddle are a nice pleather. The shifters are smooth and the brakes are fine. I live riding this bike. It’s helping to level the playing field with my husband, who’s a much stronger bike rider than me.

Originally I gave them 1 star because the axel from the front wheel came in defective so the wheel couldn’t be installed and I spent hours on the phone trying to contact them without response, but then I was contacted by mail by Cara from customer support and everything changed. She explained to me that they are in the process of hiring more people for their phone support and thy sent to me immediately a replacement for the defective part. Now my bicycle is working perfectly and I’m more than happy with it. I can’t give them 5 stars because what I just explained but the product certainly deserve them. Thanks Cara.

Update… spoke with Cara from Heybike extremely helpful and was able to address a few issues we had …. My father in law loves the bike so much he bought a second one for his wife ….The bike is nice and seems well made but during shipping received some damage to the seat and gear changer .. I was able to bend it back in place and tune it back so it’s able to change all gears but this seems to be a on going issue with several reviews saying the same thing … but other than that bike has plenty of power and comfortable ride looking forward to more rides

Hey Bikes 2.0 city escape purchased 2 of them up date on customer service
Bikes had problems with brakes squealing on my bike and my wifes bike the front wheel was rubbing real bad. Battery meter does not work on my battery. My wifes bike right front brake switch is bad, waiting on Hey Bikes solution for the problems at this time. Hey Bike has responded with a new front tire we received also they have offered for us to take the bike to a Bike shop to get the front brake switch repaired and they would reimbuse for the cost to fix, also suppose to take care of my battery problem so I am updating my review. (UPDATE JUNE 6, 2024) They have took care of all the issues and I am delighted with these 2 bikes!

Not very durable. Tires always going flat
First things first, assembly was pretty simple. Got bike done in about an hour. I ride to work on it which is about a 1 1/2 mile commute. 3 miles there and back. At about 50 miles the wire to the tail light somehow got caught in the bike chain and snapped so I’ve been without a taillight since then. Not even 50 miles later and same thing happens to the front headlight. I replace them both at this point with wireless pair I found on Amazon. Around the same time I had BOTH tires go flat on me. I have always done my best to avoid any obstructions I see on the road but there will always be bumps and minor pothole that I will hit every now and then. Again I replaced both inner tubes and it roads fine for awhile. I am 5’10” and 215 lbs and i thought it could be because I am a little on heavier side but now the bike has 296 miles on it and I just had my THIRD flat this time on the rear tire. At this point I can’t return the bike and I’m really regretting my decision to buy. Maybe I need bigger tires? Idk I just need to be able to get around smoothly.

Quality at an affirdable price.
Best e-bike ever. Got an amazing deal on it with front basket and rear saddle bag. Paid to have it installed professionally! Cause I am not a handy man and don’t have the patience. Even the installer told me that he is going to look into one. It’s like a horse ready to be driven. The front adjustable shocks are the best idea on a bike like this. When you pull down on a throttle it just takes off. So happy that I waited and searched for my choice.

This is my second review. I had to delete the first one because of miscommunication…. I was unaware that my basket and saddlebags would arrive separately (they came the next day)Let me tell you, I LOVE this bike! took about an hour to put together (and that’s good for 2 ladies). When I took it out for a spin I felt like a little kid on a rollercoaster! I can’t for summer to come so I can cruise around! Customer Service is top notch! Great Value
I am loving this bike so far. I have only had it for about a week, but I am enjoying everything about it. I rode it to work for the first time yesterday, and despite the wind I got there in under 30 minutes when it normally would have taken me 40 minutes on my regular bike with no winds. It does take some effort to put together, but I highly recommend it. You’ll be able to ride in conditions you couldn’t before like the wind or steep climbs. The price is extremely fair, and it is just a great looking bike.

Hey Bike Cityscape 2 week review
Pros- pretty color and frame design. Budget friendly price.Cons- cheap, flimsy components, wheels, hubs, crank and sprockets, and derailleur. The tires were loud and cheap and don’t hold enough air pressure for an adult with light cargo. I had my local bike shop upgrade the cheap derailleur that came with the bike because it would not stay adjusted and the bike clickety clacked going down the road. I also upgraded the tires. Overall assessment is, next time I’ll spend a little more and get a better bike. Also noted in the pics is a couple scratches I found upon unpacking the bike, no big deal to me but just fyi.

I’m happy with my CityScape 2.0! It’s a blast to ride for work commutes and just cruising around. I’ve got over 100 miles in with some minor issues, but HeyBike support has been excellent. They’re quick to respond and work with me to find solutions (like fixing a loose crank arm and replacing bent fenders). If you’re looking for a fun ride and good value, I’d recommend this e-bike.

Perfect!
I got this for my wife who gave up riding bikes a long while ago because she could never keep up with me, and just didn’t enjoy biking that much in general. We saw this bike and it was perfect. It allows her to ride like a normal bike and pedal when she wants to, and get the power on hills or when she trails behind me. She absolutely loves it. She is 5’4 and has no problem getting on and off of it. Instructions are a little wonky but I figured it out and installation wasn’t too difficult.

Solid bike but Bad Customer Service
Bike arrived with some slightly bent spokes, scraped paint and flat rear tire. The rear tire came damaged -tried inflating twice but will not hold air. I have been dealing with customer service via email and only get one update per day and had to provide address at least 3 times so far and still no replacement tire sent. They refuse to provide touch up paint for their damaged paint, suggested I purchase it on Amazon-crazy bad service. Also, when I called customer service initially and selected option 2 for Amazon Orders you get a message they this option is not supported. So, why ask? Hence, stuck with frustrating and inefficient email.

The bike is good quality and the electric is powerful. The customer service is the best. We had a problem and they addressed it in a timely fashion. I would recommend.

Solid bike!
I purchased this bike for my wife and so far she has loved it. It was easy to put together and feels very solid. She has about 15 miles on it so far and it has performed flawlessly. Would recommend!

Love the bike
The bike is great. It’s the perfect thing to have while living in the city. Assembly instructions were horrible, fortunately, we were able to get it done after a few hours. Other than the assembly process, this bike is amazing.

Faulty Product
Ordered this bike to improve my commute to work, waited over a week for it to arrive. When it did, the front fork was welded crooked and the front wheel will not mount. Would love to actually test the product, but due to it arriving defective, I can’t even see if it’s worth the price.

A very easy bike to ride and has nice rage to travel per charge.
We just purchased the Sola Electric Bike Adults. We are senior citizens and the bike is easy to handle being a lighter frame. We also like “old style” of the frame, and in fact we’ve only had the bike a week and we’ve had many complaints on the color. It’s sturdy and so far dependable. The best news is that the Haybike company has been very easy to deal with and answered all our questions (this being our first e bike) within a 24 hour period. Five Stars for this purchase.

Great electric bike for the price.
I have put a few hundred miles on my Sola bike since I got. I use most days. It has made it possible for me to go on longer bike rides without getting exhausted. It still gives me adequate exercise without stressing my old body out. The only issue I have had with it is that it shuts off too quickly if I have to stop at a traffic controlled intersection.

Arrived Damage
I just received this Heybike. There were scratches, and scraped paint on the frame. I managed to assemble the bike on my own – but it was a bit tough to do given the bike’s weight. Once the assembly was finished, I powered on the bike per instructions, only to discover the LCD was totally cracked and unreadable. I’ve put in a support request and I will update this review as it goes. But as of now, it feels like I just flushed $900 down the toilet for an item I cannot even use.

Good bike, good value for money
Great bike wish they had service centers in the big US cities. Good value for money. Parts such as extra battery is a bit expensive. Overall a good buy for light to medium use.
